Back by popular demand, we are excited to announce that Freeland Film Festival is coming back to beautiful Green Lake, Wisconsin in 2019! Our audience at the inaugural 2018 Festival was double what we hoped for. The support and response we received from the local community and visitors, from near and far, were overwhelmingly positive.
Look at just a few of the many positive responses from our 2018 audience:
Thanks to those of you who supported and attended the event! We gave out youth scholarships, film director awards, and hosted local and foreign film makers, not to mention some good musicians and parties.
What will the 2019 festival feature? In a word, "Stories of Rejuvenation". Freeland is a non-profit organization whose vision is a world full of pristine ecosystems and that is free of wildlife trafficking and human slavery. Storytelling is an important tool we use to pursue our vision. Therefore, our festival will feature local and global stories about people, wildlife, and ecosystems that are withstanding the pressures of a fast moving world, and making a comeback. We will have short and long documentaries, a few popular classic films, panels, workshops, music, parties, and more. There will be something for all ages and walks of life, including the beautiful lake and the historic town and surrounding area.
Freeland's US office is in Green Lake where its founder, Steve Galster, and Festival Coordinator, sister Evelyn Galster are from. We will be joined again by Festival Producer, Dawn Borchardt and our professional production team. And more importantly, we will once again coordinate and co-produce this weekend event with the local community.
Will you help us this year with a donation? The sooner we get started, the sooner we can set a date; attract an excellent audience; prepare our local businesses for the event; and inspire hope for our planet.
I donated in support of this campaign.
